Need to copy multiple events? Check out our article on batch copying events.
Where can I initiate a copy?
You can duplicate an event from two locations:
Events list — Click the three-dot menu on the right side of an event.
Event detail view — Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and choose Copy this event.
What's in the copy dialog?
When you open the copy dialog, you can:
Rename the event
Adjust geography or timing
Choose which event details to include using the Fields to Copy section
Set a new team, retailer, or fiscal year (if applicable)
Then simply click Copy to create the new event, which opens on its Overview page.
New! Fields to Copy
Previously, only basic event information was copied—fields like custom tactic fields, funding, and event briefs were excluded, meaning you had to fill them in manually. Now, you decide what to bring over.
Fields to Copy are organized into four categories:
Category | Includes |
---|---|
Tactic Details | Vendor, Tactic Description, RMC, PO, Custom Fields |
Notes & Files | Event Notes, Files, Links, Tactic Notes & Files |
Funding | Budget Name, Allocated Budget, PO (enabled only if copying within the same team/fiscal year) |
Event Brief | Background, Objectives, Strategy, Event Tags, Job Number, Deliverables |
Common fields (like Vendor and Tactic Description) are pre-checked by default.
Use "Select All" to carry over everything.
Disable/gray-out indicates fields that can’t be copied—like budget items when switching teams or years.
Smart Date Controls for Tactics
You can now also adjust tactic-level dates directly in the dialog—no more awkward date shifts due to month length differences.
Each tactic uses a Smart Date Picker.
Event-level dates are automatically calculated (“rolled up”) from your tactic date inputs.
This gives you precise control and reduces the need to manually adjust after copying.
Summary: How to Copy with Fields Options
Navigate to the event (list or detail view) and select Copy Event.
In the dialog:
Modify name, geography, or timing as needed.
Open Fields to Copy and choose which items to include.
Optionally adjust tactic dates with the Smart Date Picker.
Set the destination team/retailer and fiscal year (if available).
Click Copy—your new event appears on the Overview page.
