Organization Admins can configure KPI tracking to control which performance metrics are available to users and which KPIs appear automatically within events.
Once KPI tracking is enabled, users with the appropriate event permissions can enter KPI data from the KPI tab in event details.
Enable KPI tracking
KPI tracking is turned off by default.
To enable it:
- Go to Organization Settings.
- Open the Fields Settings tab.
- Expand the KPIs section.
- Turn on Enable KPI tracking.
Once KPI tracking is enabled, the KPI tab becomes available within event details.
Available KPI fields
Shopperations provides the following standard KPI fields:
| KPI Field | Format |
|---|---|
| Impressions | Number |
| Redemptions | Number |
| Redemption Rate | Percent |
| Units Moved | Number |
| CPUM | Currency |
| CTR | Percent |
| ROI | Number |
| ROAS | Number |
| Open Rate | Percent |
| Conversion Rate | Percent |
- Number KPIs must be greater than or equal to 0.
- ROI and ROAS support two decimal places; other number KPIs are displayed as whole numbers.
- Percentage KPIs support up to two decimal places and must be between 0 and 100.
- Currency KPIs support two decimal places.
Track estimated and actual results
By default, KPIs can include both:
- EST — Estimated performance
- ACT — Actual performance
Tracking both values allows teams to establish performance expectations during planning and compare those expectations with actual results later.
Use Track Only Actuals
Select Track Only Actuals when your organization does not want users to enter estimated KPI values.
When Track Only Actuals is enabled:
- EST fields are hidden from the event KPI grid.
- Users enter ACT values only.
- Estimated totals and variance are not displayed.
Before enabling this setting, consider whether your team would benefit from comparing planned performance with actual results. Estimated values provide the benchmark used for that comparison.
Choose KPIs to Always Show
Use Always Show for KPIs that your organization expects users to track consistently.
When a KPI is marked Always Show:
- It appears automatically in the KPI grid for every event.
- Users do not need to add it manually.
- Users cannot remove it from the KPI grid.
Users can still add other available KPIs when they are relevant to a particular event.
- For example, if your organization regularly tracks Impressions, Redemption Rate, and Units Moved, you can mark those fields as Always Show while leaving less frequently used KPIs available to add as needed.
How settings affect events
KPI settings determine what users see when they open the KPI tab.
- For example, if Impressions is configured as Always Show, it appears automatically for users. If the Always Show setting is later removed, Impressions will no longer be automatically displayed after the event is refreshed.
Previously saved KPI data remains available according to the application's data-handling rules.
Encourage teams to start tracking early
KPI fields are not yet available in the Shopperations Report Engine, but KPI reporting is planned for a future release.
We recommend enabling KPI tracking and encouraging teams to begin entering data as early as possible.
Starting now helps your organization:
- Establish consistent KPI tracking practices.
- Capture estimated performance while plans are still being developed.
- Avoid having to backfill historical KPI data later.
- Build a useful performance history.
- Have KPI data ready for analysis when KPI reporting becomes available.
After KPI tracking is configured, share this article: Track Event Performance with KPIs with Event Managers, Budget Owners, and other users who will maintain KPI data.
