Workflow Step | Before Smart Date Pickers | After Smart Date Pickers |
---|---|---|
Date Editing | Only change event-level start/end dates. Tactic dates shift automatically by the same number of days. | Edit tactic-level dates directly before copying, using Smart Date Pickers. |
Accuracy | Tactic dates could drift due to months having different numbers of days (e.g., Q1 → Q2 shift caused end date to be June 29 instead of June 30). | Dates align exactly with fiscal periods, months, or quarters—no manual correction needed afterward. |
Control | All tactics shift the same amount of days, even if they span different periods. | Each tactic can have its own start/end dates set before copying. |
Event Dates | Manually set; could be misaligned with tactic dates. | Rolled up automatically from tactic dates you set. |
Common Fix Needed | Adjust multiple tactic dates after copying to fix errors. | No post-copy date fixes needed—event is ready to go. |
Key Features
1. One-Cell Start-End Date Selection
Start and end dates are combined into a single input.
You can type dates directly or click to open the date picker.
2. Calendar Shortcuts
Period – Select from Period 1, Period 2, etc., with start-end dates auto-filled from your org’s fiscal settings (12- or 13-period calendar).
Quarter – Select Q1, Q2, Q3, or Q4.
Half – Choose Half 1 or Half 2.
Full Fiscal Year – Automatically sets start and end dates to the full fiscal year.
3. Visual Cues
An orange line marks the end of your fiscal year in the picker.
How It Works in Different Contexts
Add/Edit Event Sidebar
Click the Start-End Date field → Smart Date Picker appears.
Select from shortcuts or type manually → Click Apply → Dates update immediately.
At the Tactic Level
Works the same way as above, but updates only the selected tactic.
Copy Event Modal
Event Start-End Date is non-editable (rolls up from tactics).
Change tactic dates directly → Apply changes → Click Copy to duplicate with new dates.
Batch Copy Events Modal
Similar to Copy Event, but for multiple events at once.
Change tactic dates individually → Apply → Copy Events.
Example Use Cases
1. Display and Search Tactics
Display and search tactics are often planned monthly or by period. With shortcuts, you can:
Select a quarter for the event timing.
Then create three tactics inside that event—e.g., P1, P2, and P3 within Q1—quickly and without manual date entry.
2. Agency Retainers
Agency retainers are often planned as full-year events and tactics.
Use the Full Fiscal Year shortcut to set dates in seconds instead of scrolling month by month.
3. Multi-Event Duplication
-
Quickly duplicate events with pre-filled dates for each tactic while preserving tactic durations.
Pro Tips
Switching between date shortcuts will overwrite any manually entered dates—use shortcuts first, then fine-tune manually if needed.
For Admins - Always verify fiscal year settings under Organization Settings → Calendar to ensure accuracy.
