Once you’ve created an event, you can use the Tactics page to add, edit, and manage tactics without opening the event itself. This makes it the fastest way to handle large volumes of tactics.
Adding a Tactic
Navigate to the Tactics page.
Ensure you are in Group by: Event Mode to add tactics.
Click ➕ Add Tactic.
Fill out the fields moving left to right.
If your organization has custom tactic brand/product fields set up (e.g., PO#, Order ID, Vendor Number, Product Attributes), these will also appear and may be required.
Click Save to add the tactic.
Editing a Tactic
Inline Editing: Many fields (budgets, spend, custom fields) can be updated directly on the grid by clicking into the field.
Changes save automatically as you click out of the field.
Tactic Batch Actions
The Tactics page allows you to take action on multiple tactics at once:
Select tactics by checking the boxes next to their rows.
Use the Batch Actions menu to apply updates.
Tactic batch actions include:
Change Tactic Status → update several tactics to Approved, Committed, or another status at once.
Change RMC → mark selected tactics as counting towards Retail Media Commitment or not
Delete → remove several tactics in one action (confirmation required).
✅ Tip: Use filters + batch actions together to quickly update or export a very specific set of tactics (e.g., all tactics for a single vendor, or all tactics scheduled in the next quarter).
Editing a Tactic's Event Details
You can access the Event level details for your tactic by going to the Event Name field.
Click on the arrow button to open the Event side pan.
Edit Event main details in the top section and use the tabs in the bottom section to add/edit:
- Files
- Notes
- Invoices and Deductions
- Brief elements
- Links
Deleting a Tactic
Click on the three dots at the far right end of the tactic row.
Select the Delete option.
Confirm the deletion in the dialog.
⚠️ Note: Deleted tactics are permanently removed and will no longer appear in reports.
Managing Spend
Estimated Spend: Initial planned cost for the tactic.
Allocated Budget: Portion of the budget assigned to this tactic. Typically equal to estimated spend at the onset of planning. It may later deviate as plans evolve or new assumptions are used.
Actual Spend: Final spend recorded once invoices/deductions/coupon redemptions are recorded.
These fields update your budget balances in real time.
✅ Tip: Use grouping and filters (covered in the next article) to quickly find tactics you want to edit in bulk.
