The KPI Tracker gives your team a standardized way to capture estimated and actual performance metrics directly within Shopperations.
Once KPI tracking is enabled for your organization, users with the appropriate permissions can manage KPI data from the KPI tab of an event.
Are you an Organization Admin?
KPI tracking must first be enabled and configured at the organization level. See Set Up KPI Tracking for Your Organization for setup instructions and available admin settings.
Available KPIs
Shopperations supports the following standard KPI fields:
| KPI Field | Format |
|---|---|
| Impressions | Number |
| Redemptions | Number |
| Redemption Rate | Percent |
| Units Moved | Number |
| CPUM | Currency |
| CTR | Percent |
| ROI | Number |
| ROAS | Number |
| Open Rate | Percent |
| Conversion Rate | Percent |
The KPIs that appear automatically in your events depend on your organization's settings. You can also add other available KPIs when they are relevant to an event.
Start tracking KPIs early
You do not need to wait until an event is complete to begin entering KPI data.
Whenever possible, enter estimated values during planning and update actual values as results become available.
Starting early helps your team:
- Preserve the original performance expectations for the event.
- Compare expected and actual results over time.
- Avoid having to reconstruct or backfill KPI data later.
- Build a consistent history of campaign performance.
- Have data ready for upcoming KPI reporting capabilities.
KPI fields are not yet available in the Shopperations Report Engine, but reporting support is coming soon. Capturing KPI data now means your organization will already have meaningful historical data available when reporting launches.
Add KPIs to an event
Users with an Organization Admin, Event Manager, or Budget Owner role can manage KPI data within an event.
To add a KPI:
- Open the event.
- Select the KPI tab.
- Click Add KPI.
- Select one or more KPIs.
- Click Apply.
The selected KPIs appear as grouped columns in the KPI grid.
Some KPIs may already be displayed when you open the tab. These have been configured by your Organization Admin to appear automatically and cannot be removed.
Enter estimated and actual values
Unless your organization is configured to track actuals only, each KPI includes:
- EST — Estimated value
- ACT — Actual value
Enter or update KPI values directly in the grid. Values are saved when you press Enter or click outside the field.
The KPI tab displays tactics and their associated brands/products, allowing performance data to be maintained at the appropriate level.

Enter number and currency KPIs
For number and currency KPIs, values can be entered at either the tactic level or brand/product level.
If you enter a value at the tactic level, Shopperations distributes that value equally among the brands/products belonging to the tactic.
If you enter individual values at the brand/product level, Shopperations adds those values together and updates the corresponding tactic total.
- For example, if you enter 100,000 Impressions for a tactic with two brands/products, Shopperations distributes the value evenly between them.
Enter percentage KPIs
Percentage KPIs are entered at the brand/product level.
You cannot enter a percentage value directly at the tactic level. Shopperations also does not calculate a combined tactic-level or header total for percentage KPIs.
This applies to KPIs such as:
- Redemption Rate
- CTR
- Open Rate
- Conversion Rate
Understand KPI variance
When both estimated and actual values are being tracked, Shopperations calculates variance as:
ACT − EST
For example:
Estimated Impressions: 500,000
Actual Impressions: 575,000
Variance: +75,000
The variance helps you quickly compare actual performance with the original expectation.
If your organization tracks actuals only, EST values and variance are not displayed.
View Vendor and Order ID
You can add additional context to the KPI grid using the settings cogwheel in the grid header.
Available additional columns include:
- Vendor
- Order ID, using your organization's configured Order ID name
You can also sort the grid by Tactic Name, Vendor, or Order ID.
Click the column header once to sort in ascending order and again to sort in descending order.
Remove a KPI
KPIs that were manually added to an event can also be removed.
To remove a KPI:
- Hover over the KPI header.
- Click the remove icon.
- Review the confirmation message.
- Click Yes, delete.
Important: Removing a KPI also deletes the data entered for that KPI within the event.
KPIs configured by your Organization Admin to always appear cannot be removed.
KPI reporting is coming soon
KPI fields are not yet available in the Shopperations Report Engine.
A future update will allow KPI values to be used in Report Build Mode, making it possible to analyze KPI performance alongside other Shopperations data.
The best way to prepare is to start tracking now. The more consistently your team captures estimated and actual KPI data today, the more useful your reporting history will be when KPI reporting becomes available.
If you are an Organization Admin and want to review how your organization's KPI experience is configured, see Set Up KPI Tracking for Your Organization.
